Early Childhood Music Education

The classes offered at Tri-City Musikgarten are designed to nurture the child’s music aptitude by engaging children and their families in singing and movement activities which help attune the ear, refine the voice, and develop a rhythmic body through which music can be expressed. Additionally, instrumental activities are part of the program, ranging from playing simple rhythm instruments such as sticks and drums for babies and toddlers to playing keyboards for older children.

Meet our teachers

All of our teachers are trained and certified in the MusikGarten curricula. In addition, they have strong backgrounds in early childhood education and development. Plus, they're a lot of fun, too! Just you wait and see..

Once my child entered the Music Makers classes, I was amazed at the music theory my child was learning. I noticed that Musikgarten now allowed my child to play many of the songs on instruments that he had already learned in the toddler and preschool classes. He was learning to play music by recognizing musical notes and rhythm patterns. He was even being taught to make up his own songs that he could play. I loved how my child was learning pre-reading skills and writing skills that would help prepare him for school. Just like in reading, music is read left to right. Later, when my child started piano lessons, his previous music theory instruction made it easy for him to learn a new instrument. Out of all my child's preschool enrichment opportunities, Musikgarten probably had the most school readiness skills embedded into it. I would highly encourage every parent to consider allowing their child to continue in Musikgarten through the preschool years and into the elementary years.

Musikgarten classes have enriched our lives. We started classes when our oldest child was just 9 months old and now we are entering our third year of classes and both of our children love the program. Our children love attending classes, as well as listening to and dancing to Musikgarten music at home and in the car. We are so glad to have found and joined the Musikgarten classes lead by knowledgeable and caring Teachers, Chelsea and Eileen. Both Chelsea and Eileen, create classroom environments that my very reserved oldest child feels safe and secure in. We look forward to continuing our children’s early music education with Chelsea and Eileen.

Chelsea is such a wonderful teacher! She remembers every child, and makes sure to point out the good that she sees them doing. She’s a master at redirecting in a positive way and her imaginative play is magic. I’m so grateful to have such a safe, positive environment for my children to learn about music, respecting instruments, and listening to the teacher.
